Course objectives:
• General objectives:
The course is designed to:
 Provide the student with a basic knowledge of the structure of cells, tissues and organs of the body.
 Correlate the microscopic structure of individual tissue components and organs with their functions.
• Specific objectives:
At the end of the course, student should be able to:
 Describe and identify the components and organelles of the cell.
 Describe and identify the histological structure of the basic tissues of the body.
 Describe and identify the histological structure of the organs of the body.
 Correlate the structure and function of the cells, tissues and organs.
