About Prof. Reima Al-Jarf

Prof. Reima Al-Jarf has taught ESL, translation and linguistics courses to undergraduate students and ESP courses to graduate students for 26 years. Her areas of interests are: Use of technology in language teaching and learning, reading curriculum design, reading, spelling and translation error analysis. She has published 240 books, ebooks, book chapters, encyclopedia and journal article in refereed International and national journals. She has given more than 330 presentations and 40 workshops in 69 countries (Albania, Austria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bosnia, Brunei Barussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Czech Republic, China, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Morocco, North Cyprus, Norway, Oman, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, UK, Ukraine, USA, Vietnam).  She is a member of 22 national and international professional organizations. She has taught 50 language skills, linguistics, translation and interpreting courses and 30 online courses. Since the year 2000, she has integrated different types of technologies in the language and translation courses she has taught. She has tried several LMS such as Blackboard, WebCT, Moodle, Nicenet, & RCampus. She has written numerous papers and has given many presentations on the integration of blogs, wikis, podcasts, MP3 lessons,  Mind-mapping and Text-to-Speech software, different kinds of language websites and mobile Apps  in reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and translation courses. Many of her research results have been cited in international media and by many internet websites. For example, the results of her "Global Dimension in Saudi History Textbooks" paper appeared in more than 20 newspapers worldwide including World Tribune, Education, Guardian, Opinion  Journal,  Le Monde, Gulf Wire Digest, Free Republic, the Straits Times, Arab News, Imra,Saudi-US Relations Information Service, and others.  In the year 2008, she won 3 Excellence for Teaching Awards and the Best Faculty Website Award at her university and college.
