Publication Abstract

In this paper we deal with an optimization problem which is described by a elliptic
variational inequality. We develop an existence theory for the minimum energy
problem. We treat the problem for the elliptic variational inequality of order 4 by
introducing the penalized differential equation and then taking limits of the equations
resulting from the penalized approximation.
