Najl 320

Najl 320
Najl 320 aims to equip students with definitions of basic concepts in the major areas of linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. It aims, moreover, to enable students to differentiate between some similar concepts: phonology/phonetics, phoneme/allophone, morpheme/allomorph, derivational/inflectional morphemes, deep structure/surface structure, etc. Students will also be able to explain phonological processes, explain basic principles of the various syntactic theories and identify basic principles underlining some semantic theories.
