يوضح المقرر تركيب وحدة المجهر الإلكتروني من أساسيات وأجهزة معملية ثم يتطرق لوصف المجهر الإلكتروني نفسه بنوعية ( النافذ والماسح ) ونظرية عمله والفرق بينه وبين المجهر الضوئي – ثم تتم عملية تمرير العينات ومراحلها المختلفة حتى الحصول على الصور الفوتوغرافية كما تتم دراسة العيوب التي قد تحدث أثناء العمل وكيفية تلافيها كذلك وسائل الأمن والسلامة داخل الوحدة .
