PHL 322

This course covers the principles of synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity with special stress on mechanisms of drugs used in the treatment of attention deficit syndrome, disorders of memory, learning, neurons and mood  such as epilepsy, depression, anxiety schizophrenia, parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, addiction, eating and metabolism, spinal card injuries, sleep, pain, autism and stroke. Side effects and drug interactions will be discussed. The experimental part of the course will deal with experimental illustrations of the actions of drugs.
