Amazon and the first business model

In 1994, Jeff Bezos left a well paid job on Wall St. to start Amazon. Although huge growth was expected in e-commerce, still he was skeptical about a break-even in the coming 5 years. Out of a pool of 20 products, books were chosen to be the focus product and various strategies were used to face competition from existing bookstores like Barnes & Noble.
