Academic Qualifications:

2002:               Ph.D. in Computer Science, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.

1996:               Masters in Computer Science, King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Administrative Experience:

2007-2012:      Dean, Deanship of e-Transactions and Communications, KSU, Riyadh, KSA.

                        The Deanship of e-Transactions and Communications (ETC) at KSU is responsible for the development/delivery of IT systems,                         applications and services. 220 Currently, ETC is working toward the transformation of paper-based university services to an                             electronic-based university.

2006-2007:      General Manager, General Administration of Computer Information Systems.

                         This administration provided IT services throughout KSU. The Administration was ultimately assigned deanship status (ETC).

2005-2006:      Assistant Manager for Technical Affairs, TV & Broadcasting Center, KSU, Riyadh, KSA.

                        The TV & Broadcasting Center, which later became KSU’s Deanship of e-Learning, was responsible for providing basic                                      resources needed for remote lectures at KSU.

 Professional Experience:

2007-20011:    Overall supervision of the KSU-network Renewal and Expansion Project:

                        Upgraded KSU network from old frame-relay based to IP-based network. Supervised the expansion of the number of                                         connected nodes from 4,000 nodes (in 2007) to 50,000 nodes (in 2011), serving the all KSU campuses. 

2007-20011:    Supervision of the KSU e-Service Development Project:

                        Project involved documentation, analysis, design, development and deployment of 120 e-services that facilitated the                                         completion of over 2 million transactions by KSU employees, staff and students. Significant number of mobile services was                               introduced as well.

2007-Now:       Overall supervision of customer care and support for IT services:

                       Through the establishment of the customer care unit, we have been able to provide proper support for more than 120,000 IT                            cases, enabling KSU users to better utilize and accommodate technology.

2008-2012: Overall supervision of the KSU Portal:

                       KSU has elevated its Web presence via the proper implementation of CMS and deployment of a massive de-centralized                                    approach, feeding and updating the portal.

2002-2005:      Consultant for the implementation of Academic System in Imam University, Riyadh, KSA.

                         Responsibilities included proper preparation and orientation of key stakeholders within Imam University, along with general                              revision of major deliverables from the vendor.

2005-2006: Consultant for the Center of Crime Studies, Interior Ministry, Riyadh, KSA.

                        Responsibilities included outlining a data-preparation plan to facilitate proper utilization of software needed to achieve major                             objectives of the center.

Member of high-level supervisory committee for the implementation of a core business application, aimed at automating all registration services.

Member of a high-level supervisory committee for the implementation of KSU’s main ERP system, aiming to automate all HR services, financial services, and procurement services.
