  Research project in one of environmental fields

1.  Course Description

 This course aims at training students on designing and executing research experiments, recording, analyzing, and discussing date giving scientific explanations, then offering a presentation in a scientific meeting.

 

1.    Summary of the main learning outcomes for students enrolled in the course.

The main objective of the course is to prepare the students as researchers in a particular field of Zoology such as Parasitology. The course is designed around the idea of developing skills in writing a research proposal, reading research articles and collecting information relevant to the subject. The other aspects include, presenting oral talks on current research related to their field of interest (Parasitology). It also includes practical knowledge on the laboratory techniques involved in the methodology. Analysis of data and interpretation of results; writing up the work as a dissertation or thesis.

 

2. Briefly describe any plans for developing and improving the course that are being implemented. (eg increased use of IT or web based reference material, changes in content as a result of new research in the field)

·      Updating course materials using state of the art research findings.

·      Tune-up the course contents in proportion with equivalent local and international courses.

·      Updating the course content with more specific topics related to the research fields.

·      Updating the course resources using internet and recent books.
