Course Description   


The course is designed to explore those factors affecting the health and well being of aging people. It will cover the relationship between the process of aging and behaviour in such areas as sensory, personality and cognitive functioning. Other subjects will include the principle and practice of geriatric rehabilitation based on the theories of aging. Social, cultural influences and age-related changes in accommodation to the physical environment will be discussed. Finally, considerable attention will be paid to some specifically selected clinical conditions that are common with the elderly people including overall assessment of health and functional profile of an aged individual.
