CLS 417 Microbiology (Clinical Practice)
(1+2) This course is designed to train the students, under close-supervision, in routine and special techniques performed in a clinical microbiological laboratory at a university hospital or specialist hospital. The completion of this course should provide the students the knowledge of laboratory skills to include overall organisation, safety precautions, handling and processing of specimens, data analysis, quality control, and to be familiar with conventional and rapid diagnosis of microbial pathogens using manual and automated equipment in a hospital set up.
