This paper address selecting a temporary retaining wall for large excavations for structures and tunnels using Expert Systems methodology.
The selection process requires a combined quantitative and qualtiative knowledge in which steel sheet piles as a ground wall support system will be selected with its driving pile hammers based on geolgical conditions . Thereafter, productivity will be calculated and depending on the size of the projectt it computes the duration of erecting the wall and its costs as well.
