Dr.Promy Virk is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She received her Master’s with an Honours in Zoology from Punjab University, Chandigarh followed by Ph.D in Fisheries from Panjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India.

Her teaching interests include Ecology, Environmental Pollution, Aquaculture, Fish Biology etc. She has been mentoring and supervising several graduate students during her tenure at the University since 2009 and has been actively involved in research projects, both as a Co and Principal-investigator.

Her primary research interests are in the field of Toxicology; Aquatic toxicology, Heavy metal pollution and role of natural antioxidants. Her recent research projects have been on Nanotechnology and its role in combating pollution. She has authored and co-authored several publications in international journals cited in “Science Citation Index”. She has also been session chair and presenter at International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology, Houston ,Texas, USA in 2014. She intends to promote interdisciplinary research and outreach.
