Intelligent Sensing Using a System of Multiple Microwaves Resonators

his paper presents a microwave sensor array based on a complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) integrated with an artificial intelligence (AI) technique for material sensing applications. In particular, the sensor is utilized to detect the impurities and concentrations of fluid materials. The sensor is an array of three identical-coupled CSRRs that is modeled and designed using a full-wave numerical tool (HFSS). The array provides enhanced selectivity by utilizing the interaction between the coupled resonators. For the validation, the sensor is investigated and tested to detect small variations in the dielectric constants of fluids. Then, the numerical results were processed using multi-layer perceptrons (MLP) neural networks.
This study explores the viability of using the avoided mode crossing phenomenon in the microwave regime to design microwave differential sensors. While the design concept can be applied to any…
