Welcome to the course on Principles and Advanced Topics in Heterocyclic Chemistry. A particular focus will be placed on commonly used strategies for synthesizing medicinally important heterocycles, with an emphasis on recent breakthroughs. Additionally, the course will cover the synthesis of intermediates utilized in constructing aromatic heterocycles. Throughout the duration of the course, we will explore a diverse range of fascinating ring systems, including azoles, pyridines, pyrimidines, quinolones, isoquinolines, as well as fused heterocyclic compounds such as indoles, benzimidazoles, and purines.
