Definition and basic properties of the group, subgroups and cyclic groups, cosets and Lagrange's theorem, normal subgroups, homomorphism and factor groups, isomorphism theorems, group of automorphisms, Cayley's theorem and its generalization. Simple groups, permutation groups. Action of a group on a set, conjugavy classes and Cauchy's theorem, p-groups, Sylow's theorems, External and internal direct products of groups.
