IT 328 - Networks Principals

 

In this course, students will be able to Identify computer networks types, components and the architecture of the TCP/IP suite of Protocols, differentiate between User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). In addition, explain the main functions of the network layer and its main protocol IP Describe the architecture, protocols and major issues of Local Area Networks (LANs), analyze analog and digital communication systems and their main components and mechanisms, demonstrate the data link layer functions: framing, error detection & correction and multiple access protocols, evaluate the performance of a network in terms of delay and throughput and use and apply socket programming with TCP and UDP to develop simple network application.
