introduction/brief CV

My fields of interest are computer modeling and simulation, Machine elements & mechanism design, and Micro-hydro applications. During my teaching, I taught different courses such as Engineering Design, Design of Machine Elements, CAD/CAM, Mechanisms, Mechanics of Materials, Automobile Engineering, etc.

 

areas of expertise

My research area is the Gas Tungsten Arc welding simulation including the development of the arc plasma and temperatures and heat flux to the workpiece caused by different welding configurations such as the torch angle, tip angle, arc gap, etc.  The weld pool is affected by the forces such as heat flux, current density, gas shear, and Marangoni convection. The heat flux causes distortion which is a challenge, particularly in thin aluminum sheets which are commonly used in the industry.
