NAJM 230: Listening & Speaking (English Department)

This course aims to teach language skills such as listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. Students should be able to acquire these skills to develop their language. At the end of the course some of the skills that the students will be able to do include:
• Answer comprehension questions.
• Answer true or false statements.
• Choose the correct words to complete the sentences.
• Choose the correct grammatical rule.
• Make use of contextual clues to infer meanings of unfamiliar words from context.
• Make inferences and predictions about spoken discourse.
• Identify and distinguish main ideas from supporting details.
• Identify and distinguish facts from opinions.
• Identity and distinguish comparative from superlative nouns.
• Make use of sequential words and phrases in speaking and writing.
• Select, collect, and organize information for an oral presentation.
• Deliver an effective oral presentation.
• Present information using digital tools.
