Dr. Hala Mokhtar is Associate Professor at College Of Computer and Information Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh , Saudi Arabia. She received her PhD from Liverpool John Moores University, UK in 2003. Her research interests include ubiquitous computing, wireless networks, mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, e-learning, assessment and m-learning..

Nov. 99 - Mar. 03  : Ph.D. in Computer Science, Liverpool John Moores University, UK The research is about multimedia networking and has the title “Admission Control Mechanisms in Multimedia Networks.” The aim of the research is to develop a general framework for the design of connection admission control (CAC) in IP/ATM networks. It addresses the areas of source modelling, allocation schemes, scheduling disciplines and admission tests.

This is a four years full-time study. The first year for courses and the other three years for research. The research is about Neural Networks and has the title “Classification and Generalization Capabilities of Multi-Layer Feed-Forward Neural Networks.”

This is a five years full- time study. Subjects studied including, but not limited to, computer architecture, distributed systems, communication theory, system analysis, applied mathematics, calculus, probability theory, digital systems, measurements and testing, and programming languages.
Final year project is about pulse code modulation (PCM) systems.
