RHS 313: Respiratory science I

Course Description: 


 


During the course, the learners will be learned how to deal ethically based on the medical ethics and principles, and also they will learn how to communicate withe other co-worker professionally. the learner will  know how to control the infection based on the universal standards for infection control. The learners will be exposed to different methods on how to protect the airways using the artificial airways. The learners will be also introduced to some diagnostic techniques to help assessing the patients. An overview of pharmacological principles will be presented in this course. Emphasis will be given to drugs influencing the respiratory system.


 


Course Hours: 


This course will be conducted on Tuesday , 13:00 - 14:50.


 


Course Goals:


 



  • ·     Learn the proper way to deal and communicate with patient and  co-workers.

  • ·     Learn the proper use of different drugs that treat respiratory system 

  • ·     Learn and understand the basic diagnostic techniques.  

 


Course Requirements:


 



  1. 1.                  Read the assignments due for each class period.

  2. 2.                  Attend class.

  3. 3.                  Complete other required assignments.

  4. 4.                  Complete and pass block exams and final exam (60% or higher on each exam is required).

 


Exam Policy:


Students are expected to take the examinations at the scheduled date and time.  If a student must miss an examination due to illness or an unforeseen problem, it is the student’s responsibility to contact the instructor in advance to make other arrangements.


 


Attendance:


Attendance is mandatory. Students who miss more than 25% of the course will not be allowed to take the final exam unless there is a legitimate reason and the reason was discussed with the instructor earlier. A penalty for late work will be assessed on an individual basis.

Grading:


This course will be graded on percentage. The minimum passing score is 60%.
