Dr. Kahkashan Perveen, Associate Professor, Department of Botany and Microbiology, College of Science Girls Campus, King Saud University, Riyadh-11495, Saudi Arabia

Specialization: Plant Pathology

Educational Qualification: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Aligarh Muslim University (India).
 
Research interests: - Antimicrobial activity of plants,  silver nanoparticles, and other natural products. Isolation, identification, and characterization of plant pathogenic & bio-control agents. Eco-friendly management of plant pathogenic microorganisms.

  • Engage in teaching the microbiology courses to undergraduate and Ph.D. students.
  • Supervising the research projects of undergraduate students.
  • Co-supervisor of the research/thesis of a Ph.D. student.
  • Conducting research on antimicrobial activity of plants, peptides and silver nanoparticles. Isolation and characterization of bio-control agents of Saudi Arabia.
  • Co-Investigator of two Research group project funded by Deanship of Scientific Research, King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA

Before joining King Saud University, I was involved in research and teaching in India, which include working as a research fellow in a research project sponsored by UPCST, India titled “Influence of agrichemicals on Lectin mediated Rhizobium-Legume symbiosis and grain yield in leguminous crops” and teaching at Aligarh Muslim University, India.
 I have also qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lectureship conducted by Government of India.
