Responsibilities include daily recovery and identification of pathogenic bacteria, parasites, fungi and viruses. Perform sensitivity testing, quality control as well as many other clinical microbiology tests. Ensure compliance with JCIA, CAP and the National Guard Laboratory Standards. Experience in virology shell vial and staining methods as well traditional viral cultures. Experience with PCR for GC and Chlamydia testing by the PropTec Technique. Utilize Cerner as the laboratory information system; API identification system, Microscan, E-Test and Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion technique for bacterial identification and sensitivity. Experience with BacT/Alert and the BD Bactec system for analyzing blood cultures;
