Course Describtion and Objectives :

Writing 2 is a writing course which aims at developing students’ abilities to construct a

cohesive and coherent paragraph of 15-20 lines. Students should be able to tackle topics of different natures producing narrative, descriptive, argumentative or/and informative paragraphs. All required basics for constructing these types of paragraphs are taught throughout the course.

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

1- develop ideas

2- construct sentences

3- use a correct topic sentence and supporting details

4- avoid grammatical mistakes in writing a paragraph

5- use correct punctuation

6- write a well-organized and developed 10-15 paragraph as well as a short essay that

includes the three main pillars of essay writing: introduction, body and conclusion.

7- Edit a 10-15 line paragraph.
