IS240: Information Systems Analysis and Design
This course presents the fundamental concepts and methods of system analysis and design. It introduces established and evolving methodologies for the analysis, design, and development of an information system. It allows students to gain practical skills in modeling systems from the process and object perspectives as well as an understanding of the approaches that can be used when undertaking a holistic analysis and design project
For this purpose, the following topics are covered
Overview of System analysis and design and the role of a system analyst
The system development environment and system development life cycle -SDLC
Investigating System Requirements
Modeling using UML
Essential of Design and the Design Activities
Designing the User and System Interfaces
Approaches to System Development
Object Oriented Design
Course Objectives
To present the fundamental concepts and methods of systems analysis and design
To describe the systems development life cycle SDLC
To exercise analysis and design tools and techniques
