Course Title | Translation II |

Course description | Unlike the previous translations courses (Eng 118, Eng 212), students in this course will translate passages of various sources and genres from Arabic to English only. Students will learn how to use the dictionary properly under a well-managed time frame. |

Textbook | A booklet that contains different selected passages that vary in content, language, length, and genre is supplied by instructor. |
Supplementary Reading | Lecture notes relating to translation tips and guidelines, or certain grammatical rules are provided by the instructor based on the texts dealt with during each class as well as on the students’ areas of weakness or confusion. |

Additional notes (such as makeup policy) No make-ups will be offered for quizzes with or without an excuse. Late submissions of take-home assignments will be penalized with a one-point-deduction each late day. Students who miss a midterm are supposed to provide me with an excuse for their absence. Only students with valid excuses will take a make-up exam. The exam will cover the entire syllabus and will take place during the review week. |
