Mohmed Fouad Zedan
Bio:
Currently a professor of Mechanical Engineering at King Saud University in Riyadh, which he joined in 1984. Dr. Zedan has a PhD from the University of Houston, USA and M.Sc and B.Sc from Cairo University. He worked as a senior research engineer at the KBR unit of Halliburton from 1979 to 1983 and at Daniel Industries from 1983 to 1984, both of Houston, Texas. In the last 15 years, Dr. Zedan has been doing research and consulting in air conditioning, room ventilation and energy conservation in buildings resulting in numerous publications in specialized journals and conferences. Recently, he participated in the design of the air conditioning facilities of the 3rd expansion of the Holly Mosque in Makkah. He is a member of ASME and a former member of AIAA.

| Daniel Industries, Houston, Texas Senior Research Engineer Feb. 3, 1983 - Aug. 24, 1984 Research & Development Dept., Investigated experimentally installation effects on the accuracy of orifice flow meters. Developed a new strut for vortex meters with improved linearity and repeatability. Developed an accurate equation of state for hydrocarbons and steam for use in mass flow meters. |

Jan. 1979 - Jan. 1981 Marine Division Worked on various basic and applied research projects resulting in a number of publications. These projects covered areas of waves and wave forces on offshore structures, experimental investigation of hydro-elastic oscillations of cantilevered piles in regular and random waves, vortex shedding, analysis of marine risers response to currents and waves, platform transportation fatigue analysis, failure analysis of piles due to vortex shedding lock-on, experimental modeling of guyed tower in wave tank, employment of a collector cone for capping the IXTOC-1 underwater blowout in 1979 in the Gulf of Mexico.
