Advanced Web Technologies
This course aims to explore, discuss, and research emerging technologies in the web arena. Emphasis is placed on exposure to up-and-coming technologies relating to the web, providing hands-on experience, and discussion of practical implications of these emerging fields. It allows students to gain an in-depth understanding of new web technologies, services and business models in fixed and mobile networks. The course will cover topics such as XML and its technologies, Web services, Rich Internet Applications (RIA), Hypertext and Hypermedia Systems, Web application frameworks, and some Advanced Topics in Emerging Web Technologies such as Cloud/Grid Computing and Mobile Computing. Upon completion, students should be able to articulate issues relating to these technologies and implement more advanced web systems.
