Dr. (Mrs.) Iram Siddique, Assistant Professor in Department of Botany and Microbiology, College of Science, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,has been teaching various courses of Botany and Microbiology and also involved in research. She has 10 Years of research experience in Plant Biotechnology particularly in the area of Plant Tissue Culture and Micropropagation and more than 2 years teaching experience at graduate and Post graduate level.   She obtained her Ph.D. degree from AMU in 2008. Has worked on a wide range of basic and applied plant science and contributed significantly, especially in developing protocols using different morphogenetic pathways (direct, indirect and somatic embryogenesis) in in vitro regeneration and multiplication of several aromatic, medicinal and economic plants for (a) Rapid production of true to type plants and clean stock of intractable -to- multiply elite plants. (b) Assessment of clonal fidelity and conservation of phytodiversity and (c) Understanding the basic phenomenon of growth and differentiation-Morphogenesis. A number of protocols emanated from tissue culture studies using different morphogenetic pathways on economic plants belonging to different categories have been established. Evaluated the effect of different light intensities on photosynthesis and antioxidant enzymes during ex vitro establishment of micropropagated plants. Developed an innovative method of germplasm preservation through long term storage using synthetic seed and regenerative excised root cultures.

She is the recipient of many prestigious awards like Junior Scientist of the Year 2011 of National Environmental Science Academy, (NESA), New Delhi and Yuva Viagyanik Samman of the Year 2010 of UPCST, Lucknow. She has also been awarded Fast Track Proposal for Young Scientist by Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi and Post Doctoral Fellowship for Women by University Grants Commission, Govt. of India, New Delhi. She worked as a Project Fellow in a UGC funded project from May 2006 to March 2007, as a Senior Research Fellow of CSIR, New Delhi from April 2007 to March 2009 and subsequently as a Research Associate of CSIR, New Delhi from April 2009 to February 2012. She has published Twenty eight research papers in Plant tissue culture in reputed International peer-reviewed Journals and these have been cited 275 times with 13 h- index till date. She has been an active participants in several National Symposiums held at various Universities and Institutes.
