Dr. Taghreed Abdulaziz Hafiz finished her postgraduate studies from liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Her master project was about the prevelance of rotavirus in Yemen while her PhD was in Tropical Medicine, specifically in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Her research interest includes multidisciplinary approach which are: Cell biology, microbiology, metabolism, mitochondria, biochemistry, ‘-omics’-related science, HPLC and mass spectrometry, pharmacometabolomics.

2001 – 2006                    1st Honor BSc degree in Laboratory Medicine, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Umm Al-Qura’a University, Saudi Arabia.

Laboratory Work Experience:

 

q 

 Pharmacokinetics and metabolomics techniques such as HPLC, mass spectrometry, extra- and intracellular metabolites extraction, drugs extraction, and data analysis using software based-mass spectrometry.

 

q 

Molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR and RT-PCR, cloning and subcloning, gene sequencing, gene silencing (RNAi), single and double restriction enzymes digestion, and gel electrophoresis.

Biological techniques such as cell culturing, cell imaging using light microscope and confocal microscopy.

Medical laboratory diagnostic techniques using standards and quality controls in accordance with the CAP (College of American Pathologist) and AABB (American Association of Blood Bank).
