CHRA: coloring based hieararchical routing algorithm (2015)

Graph coloring was exploited in wireless sensor networks to solve many optimization problems, mainly related to channel assignment. In this paper, we propose to use coloring to jointly manage channel access and routing to the sink. We introduce CHRA, a coloring based hierarchical routing approach. Coloring is exploited to avoid interferences and also to schedule nodes transmissions to the sink.

HLPSP: Hybrid Live P2P Streaming Protocol (2015)

The efficiency of live Peer-to-Peer (P2P) streaming protocols depends on the appropriateness and the management abilities of their underlying overlay multicast. While a tree overlay structure confines transmission delays efficiently by maintaining deterministic delivery paths, an overlay mesh structure provides adequate resiliency to peers dynamics and easy maintenance. On the other hand, content freshness, playback fluidity and streaming continuity are still challenging issues that require viable solutions.

An M2M gatewy-centric architecture for autonomic healing and optimizing of Machine-to-Machine overly networks (2015)

The Machine-to-Machine (M2M) technology, currently under standardization at both the ETSI and 3GPP, is expected to be one of the most promising revenue-generating services. However, to ensure the wide spread of this technology, M2M communications should be secure, fault-tolerant and self-managed. In this work, we add to the M2M gateway (an aggregator node in the M2M architecture) the self-healing and self-optimizing autonomic capabilities. We couple at the M2M gateway level the Host Identity Protocal (HIP) with the Reachability Protocol (REAP).

Autonomous and adptive beconing strategy for multi-interfaced wireless mobile nodes (2015)

Ad hoc wireless communications rely on beaconing to manage and maintain several network operations and to share relevant network parameters among network nodes. Beacon frames are sent at the start of each beacon interval. The frequency of beaconing depends on whether beacon intervals are fixed size or may be adapted and regulated according to the perceived network and workload conditions. On the other hand, current mobile nodes usually embed several heterogeneous wireless interfaces that urge the design of an adaptive beaconing strategy.

HCBLS: A Hierarchical Cluster-Based Location Service in Urban Environment (2015)

Vehicle location information is central to many location-based services and applications in VANETs. Tracking vehicles positions and maintaining an accurate up-to-date view of the entire network are not easy due to the high mobility of vehicles and consequently rapid topology changes. The design of a scalable, accurate, and efficient location service is still a very challenging issue. In this paper, we propose a lightweight hierarchical cluster-based location service in city environments (HCBLS).
