PROTEOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF RECENT FORAMINIFERAL FUNGI ISOLATED FROM DIFFERENT COASTAL LAGOONS IN RED SEA COAST, EGYPT

Twenty nine fungal species were isolated from 30 samples of picked recent foraminferal tests belong to three different coastal lagoons (Abu-Shaar, Umm al-Huwaytāt and Marsa Shūni lagoons) in red sea coast, Egypt. Aspergillus, Emericella, Paecilomyces, Penicillium and Trichoderma were the most prevalent genera on both dextrose Czapeks and potato dextrose

Stratigraphy and macrofauna of the Lower Jurassic (Toarcian) Marrat Formation, central Saudi Arabia

The stratigraphy and macrofaunal content of the Lower Jurassic (Toarcian) Marrat Formation was studied
at Khashm adh Dhibi, central Saudi Arabia. The studied succession is dominated by limestones and
dolomites, with subordinate occurrences of sandstones, siltstones and claystones. The formation is highly
fossiliferous with brachiopods, gastropods, bivalves, ammonites and echinoids, particularly the lower
and upper members. Twenty nine species are identified, they include 7 species of brachiopods, 8 gastropods,

Invertebrate shells (mollusca, foraminifera) as pollution indicators, Red Sea Coast, Egypt

To assess the degree of pollution and its impact on the environment along the Red Sea Coast, the most
abundant nine species of recent benthic foraminifera and three species of molluscan shells have been
selected for the analysis of Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni, Co, and Cd concentrations. The selected foraminiferal
species are: Textularia agglutinans, Amphispsorus hemprichii, Sorites marginalis, Peneroplis planatus, Borelis
schlumbergeri, Amphistegina lessonii, Ammonia beccarii, Operculina gaimairdi, and Operculinella cumingii.
