( 3 credit hrs) This course focuses on the expansiveness of the 19th Century novel with close analysis of at least two novels. Social, political, and philosophical contexts are subordinated to the way the 19th century writer made use of in the novel. Novels are chosen from the output of Austen, Dickens, the Brontës, Thackeray, Trollope, Eliot, Meredith, and Hardy.

     (2 credit hours) This course provides students with various strategies of writing organization. Students will be given practice excercises to produce a varity of grammatically correct sentences in unified paragraphs that are logically patterned. Focus will also be given on paragraph and essay development, though time will also be spent on reviewing sentence structure, punctuation and vocabulary. This should lead to writing a four to five paragraph essay that is patterned logically.

Study the effect of nutrition education on promoting health, educational methods targeted to change individual, group and community unhealthy nutritional behaviors and habits, the effect of mass media on eating habits and nutrition education. Nutrition education during pregnancy and lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, and most common diseases in KSA: diabetes, hypertension, obesity, renal failure, heart disease, peptic ulcer, anorexia nervosa, and bulimia.

The student in this course will prepare a comprehensive study on a subject related to individual and community nutritional issues, utilizing his previous knowledge which he acquired through his studies. The student will be using modern technology in getting the information and presenting it. The study will be presented and discussed with the faculty members and other students.
