This course aims to make students able to read simple texts, recognize vocabulary items weather it’s isolated or in a sentence, enable the students to use the language in real life situations and write short paragraphs. Also, it enables them Figuring out the sentence patterns of a sentence, guessing the meaning from the context , understanding from lectures given in English and scanning and skimming reading passages for information.

This course prepares students for entry into English-medium study, the skills in English course is ideal for students who wish to improve their scores in skills-based examinations for university entry requirements, such as the International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS). Rather than focusing on exam preparation, Skills in English teaches the necessary skills as part of a systematic program of language development. The Skills in English series takes students in four levels from Elementary to Advanced level in the four skills, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

The course aims to give students the basic skills of oral and written communication in English and with the end of the course, the student will gain some secondary skills such as Reading and listening for specific information and use vocabulary properly This course is for teaching the basic of English not for teaching things related to their majors

This course aims at training students in thinking critically to analyze the uses of the different grammatical structures, identifying the different grammatical tenses and distinguish between their meanings, identifying the best equivalent for each world in the target language , using the given structures in correct contexts in the target language and applying the given structures in the production of the target language (i.e. Arabic

This course acquaints students with different types of specialized and general dictionaries and the characteristics of each. Students are trained on how to skillfully use the dictionary, and gaining speed in looking up words. The course focuses in particular on dictionary use and its relations to: writing, speaking, grammar and semantic meaning. Students are familiarized with the different symbols used in dictionaries with special emphasis on phonetic transcription, intonation, and stress as a means of using dictionaries to develop correct pronunciation.

Listening aims at training students in listening to and understanding audio- taped materials in the form of conversations, interviews, short exchanges, or other speech events that deal with different topics. At the linguistic level, the materials contain short sentences, basic vocabulary and simple constructions. At the discourse level, the same materials are made up of direct and indirect speech acts, pauses, hedges, hesitations and fillers
