Pharmacotherapy II PHCL 430 (3+0)

OVERVIEW:

This class continues from Pharmacotherapy I, introduces the clinical use of medication in the prevention & treatment of disease and serves as a foundation for the delivery of pharmaceutical care.  Pharmacotherapy I and II serves the needs of all future pharmacists by focusing on core chronic disease states with an emphasis on outpatient management.  It is coordinated with Pharmaceutical Care I to provide more direct application.

OBJECTIVES:

وَما نَيلُ المَطالِبِ بِالتَمَنّي" "وَلَكِن تُؤخَذُ الدُنيا غِلابا

Pharmaceutical Care

This course aims to expose students to the comprehensive process of pharmaceutical care, including data collection, identification of drug-related problems, factors to consider when formulating care plan and professional communication of therapeutic plan. in addition to give the students the opportunity to work as team to solve clinical problems. as well as to give the students the opportunity to practice in a professional manner with peers, patients and other healthcare professionals (when applicable).

This course introduces the clinical use of medication in the prevention & treatment of disease and serves as a foundation for the delivery of pharmaceutical care. Pharmacotherapy I serve the needs of all future pharmacists by focusing on core chronic disease states. This course briefly reviews the pharmacotherapy of various diseases with primary focus on applying therapeutic knowledge to care for patients with such diseases.
