اختتام مؤتمر جمعيتي الجهاز الهضمي وأمراض الكبد في جدة

اختتمت فعاليات المؤتمر الـ 15 للجمعية السعودية للجهاز الهضمي في جامعة الملك سعود الذي نظمته في جدة بالتعاون مع جمعية أمراض الكبد السعودية بالتزامن مع مؤتمرها الرابع، وذلك خلال اليومين التي مضت، بمشاركة عدد من أطباء الكبد والجهاز الهضمي والمناظير العلاجية من داخل المملكة وخارجها.

4TH Gastroenterology And Hepatology Board Review Course

The Saudi Gastroenterology Association (SGA) has organized its event entitled, “4th Gastroenterology and Hepatology Board Review Course” during the period 24 – 26 November 2016, held in the Postgraduate Centre, at KFSH&RC, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This review course which is being held annually, catered to GI fellows in preparation for their written exams. Its goal is to review principles of each topic that are related to Gastroenterology & Hepatology practice in order to advance knowledge and help trainees to pass their exam.

The novel effects of anti-dibetic therapies on inflammatory mediators of type 2 diabetes mellitus

Chronic low-grade inflammation is a significant factor in the development of obesity associated diabetes. This is supported by recent studies suggesting that endotoxin, derived from gut flora, may be key to the development of inflammarion by stimulating the secretion of an adverse cytokine profile from adipose tissue. The study investigated the relationship of endotoxin on several metabolic parameters of diabetic patients.

Adipocytokine Profile of Type 2 Diabetics in Metabolic Syndrome as Defined by Various Criteria

BACKGROUND:

This study aims to identify which among the metabolic syndrome (MS) definitions are closely associated with pathological levels of leptin, adiponectin, resistin, tumour necrosis alpha (TNF-alpha) and C-reactive protein (CRP) among type 2 diabetics.
