1. Course Description:

            It is a grammar course intended for helping students of English to learn the structures from simple to difficult. It continues what has been achieved in grammar 1 and 2. It also presents English grammar through oral and written drills to enhance understanding of the introduced grammatical points. Through practice, Students will be able to use the grammatical patterns in oral communication and consequently increases accuracy in speaking. In addition, getting to know new structures in a variety of contexts help them internalize and master them.

First week   Chapter 1	First session: Introducing the course Second session:                                     Parts of Speech, kinds of sentences.	Students are to:    identify parts of speech. Kinds of sentences / sentence elements.
Second week Chapter 2	First session: Sentence types. Second session: Modifiers (adj., adv.)	Students are to:   Identify simple, compound and complex sentences.
Third week Chapter 3	First session: Verb Forms Second session: Verb-tense formation.      Regular & Irregular verbs.	Students are to: - Identify sorts of tenses. - Do consolidation exercises
Fourth week   Chapter 3	First session: Auxiliary Verbs Second session: Information question	Students are to: Learn how to ask Wh- questions. Do consolidation exercises.
Fifth  week Chapter 4	First session: The Simple Present Tense + Advs. Of Frequency Second session: The Present cont. Tense	Students are to: - Put the verbs in the right tense form. - Do consolidation exercises
Sixth week   Chapter 5	First session: Non-action Verbs Second session: The Present Perfect Simple & Continuous	Students are to: - Do multiple-choice exercises.
Seventh  week Chapter 6	First session: The Past Simple Vs. The Past cont. Second session: Using "When", "While" & "As"	Students are to:   Complete the sentence with the right tense / form. Choose the correct tense / form.
Eighth Week Chapter 6 &7	First session: The simple Future Tense. Second session: Be Going To, Present Tenses	Students are to: Do consolidation exercises: - Complete the sentence with the right tense / form. - Choose the correct tense / form. - Use going to and the simple future in sentences of their own
Ninth  week	First session:        Mid-term Exam Second session:    Correcting the mid-term exam
Tenth  week   Chapter 7 & 8	First session: Future Cont. Tense Second session: Future Perfect / Continuous Tenses	Students are to:   Complete the paragraphs with the right tense/ form.
Eleventh  week Chapter 9	First session: The Habitual past: used to/ would. Second session: The Future in the Past: was/ were going to	Students are to:   Do multiple-choice exercises.
Twelfth   Week     Chapter 10	First session: The Past Perfect Tense Second session: The Past Perfect Continuous Tense	Students are to:   _ Choose the appropriate tense.
Thirteenth   Week Chapter 11	First session: Modal Aux.: Ability & Expectation Second session: Modal Aux. of Request, Permission & preference	Students are to:   Express the given functions.
Fourteenth   Week   Chapter 11	First session: Modal Aux. of Need & Advice Second session: Modal Aux. of Possibility & Probability	Students are to:   - identify & recognize the given functions.
Fifteenth week   Chapter 12	First session Passive Voice with Simple Tenses  Second session        Passive Voice with Perfect Tenses	Students are to: - learn how to change into the passive.
Sixteenth week Chapter 12	First session Passive Voice with Continuous Tenses Second session Passive Voice with Modal Auxiliaries.	Students are to: Know how to change into the passive & Vice-Versa.
