Indented Learning Outcomes (Objectives): On successful completion of this course, student should be able to: · Discuss the term drug, various forms of drug, different routes of drug administration and the factors that influence drug absorption, distribution and elimination. · Discuss the pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, indications, contraindications, side effects, dosage and administration of specific emergency medications · Integrate the knowledge of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics while formulating a treatment plan to mitigate emergency and improve overall health · Apply the knowledge of drug actions, interactions and special considerations while administering the pharmacological agents to various patients in terms of age, sex and medical conditions · Apply the principles of safe, aseptic drug administration techniques and Identify the complication and adverse effects while administering drugs. · Practice aseptic precautions and safe disposal of contaminated items and sharps. · Calculate the drug doses, drug volume and infusion rate of pharmacological agents in a given situation.
