IT419 Ethical Issues in Information Technology
This course deals with the impact of computers on us as individuals and on our society. The widespread use of computing technology has changed the way we work, play and interact with other people. These changes have created a flood of new social and legal issues that demand critical examination. This course will cover ethical issues regarding legal, privacy and intellectual property rights concern and their application to information technology. It will give an overview of the subject aimed at raising students’ awareness about ethics in Information Technology and in research. It will include case studies to target specific IT subfields such as ethics in business and in workplace.
