Course Description
 
This course will challenge the students in translating in the field of natural sciences. This field includes: Biology, chemistry, physics, geology, etc. Texts in this genre would be in English and in Arabic.

Course Objectives
 
Students, at the end of this course, should be able to:
 

• Translate scientific texts from English to Arabic and vice versa. 
• Learn scientific vocabulary and registers.

 
 
Course Requirements
 
Attendance policy
 
Class attendance will be taken daily. If you are absent, you are absent, no matter what the reason is. You have to provide a medical excuse for your absence in order to be excused.
 
You must arrive to class on time. If you arrive 10 minutes late, you will be allowed to enter class but will be considered absent.
 
 
 
Behavior/expectations
 
Please show the utmost respect towards your teacher and your fellow colleagues. Talking loudly and goofing off disrupts the class and will certainly not be tolerated. The nature of our class needs your full, undivided attention and cooperation in order for you to achieve the objectives of this course.
 
 
Class participation
 
Participation is mandatory in class, and an integral part of your learning. You need to be active, lend your voice in class discussions, cooperate in group work, etc. Failing to do so may hinder your learning or affect your overall grade.
